Scott Hastings is a successful freelance broadcaster and commentator with BT Sport, Sky Sports, ITV, STV and BBC covering many major principal rugby events and matches across the world. 


He is also a successful and highly entertaining public speaker. Scott undertakes motivational seminars and after dinner speaking engagement for corporations, charities and sporting clubs.





Scott is a freelance broadcaster and rugby commentator with BT Sports, ITV, STV, Sky Sports and the BBC. Given his international playing experience, he is in the unique position of being able to present lead commentary (play-by-play), co-commentary and is also noted for his insightful pitch-side analysis of both fifteen and seven-a-side matches.



Scott is regularly involved in sports promotion and has endorsed and worked for a number of international companies hosting various events and functions.

Former clients have included; Capgemini, Tissot, Scottish Enterprise and Air New Zealand.



Scott is a dynamic public speaker and undertakes numerous speaking engagements and motivational seminars for blue chip companies, conferences and event organisers.

A former Scottish Internationalist and Captain of the Scotland Sevens team, Scott retired from the game in 1997 to focus entirely on his burgeoning media career.

Complementing his TV work, Scott teamed-up with older brother and fellow internationalist, Gavin, in a sports’ hospitality and sponsorship initiative, Hastings’ International, now Hi Events Ltd. The company is now solely run by Scott, undertaking a range of activities across the business sector. Scott has managed many prestigious clients such as BT, who were sufficiently convinced by Hi’s professionalism who provided sponsorship to Scottish Rugby for seven successful years.

In addition to Scott’s broadcasting and corporate hospitality commitments, he still makes time to undertake public speaking engagements at sports and charitable events and give motivational talks on leadership and teamwork to major corporate organisations throughout the country.
